Definition and Usage

The WeekdayName() function returns the weekday name based on a number.

Syntax

WeekdayName(
number

abbreviate

firstdayofweek
)

Parameter Values

ParameterDescription
numberRequired. A value from 1 to 7, that represent the day of the week
abbreviateOptional. A Boolean value. True = the weekday name should be abbreviated. False = the weekday name should not be abbreviated. False is default
firstdayofweekOptional. Specifies the first day of the week. Can be one of the following values: 0 = Use the NLS API setting 1 = Sunday (default) 2 = Monday 3 = Tuesday 4 = Wednesday 5 = Thursday 6 = Friday 7 = Saturday
  • 0 = Use the NLS API setting
  • 1 = Sunday (default)
  • 2 = Monday
  • 3 = Tuesday
  • 4 = Wednesday
  • 5 = Thursday
  • 6 = Friday
  • 7 = Saturday
